Ready to get UNDER THE COVERS  and make massage oil??! { Hint: it’s with essential oils } Woot!

It takes massage oil to a whole new level of WHOA. I kid you not. Best thing evahh!!!!!!!!! {{ The exclamation points are necessary, I swear. }}

You’ll lose your mind over it.  It’s ridiculous. UGH. Dead.

PLEASE READ!!!!!! If someone comes to your front door & asks you to remove your clothes & dance with your arms in the air, DO NOT do this, it is a scam, they just want to see you naked.  I wish I had received this yesterday, I feel stupid now!  Either way, you need to get naked to use this oil.

I’ve tried all kinds of recipes for massage oil…and perhaps the moon phase was wrong, or the tide was too low…but I could never get it just right.

Until now.

See that massage oil up there? ^^ Life changing.

I don’t want to deflate your love tires or get you all kinds of grossed out… but we need to talk about your sheets.  Many massage oils stain your sheets with-gahross-yellow-dinginess… but not this one.

That was awkward, right?   Okay bye.

Wait, did you leave?

If you come back, can you tell my Mom that this recipe is actually a moisturizing oil for dry skin?  I’m sure she’s all kinds of wigged out by now too.  She probably thinks I slipped on the crazy scale right about now.

My fave:  I use Ylang Ylang essential oil for pretty much e v e r y t h i n g .   Massage oil.  Body  lotion.  Moisturizer.  Room diffuser.  Cleaning.  Driving in my car.  Paying Bills.   Booking travel.  Kidding.   Basically, ylang ylang is all over my dang place and it makes me so stinking happy.

1. Avery square labels  or just print on paper & cut the squares.  I did.  With this.   I love the satisfaction of cutting paper into fancy dancy squares.  You too, weirdo? Here’s some free label printables..

2.   4 oz amber bottles with mist sprayer or pump.  I buy mine with the lid and buy the sprayer and pumps separately, because I love the look of the lids too.

3.  4 oz. Coconut oil … It’s d’bomb dot com.  No seriously.  Divine.

4.   50 drops Ylang ylang essential oil.   Imagine what heaven smells like.  It smells like that.

Optional and totes fun for gift giving…

This essential oil massage oil is so stupid easy to make, you’ll want to punch yourself in the face. Gently pour coconut oil into a glass bottle add your fave essential oil.  Done, ya dang hippie.

Use fractionated coconut oil !!  <— Sorry to yell. I nearly forgot that part!  It hasta hasta hasta be fractionated so it is soft and flowy.  Whaaa?  Trust me.  You need flowy coconut oil not that solid stuff in a jar.  ewhhh.

PS. Never trust anyone who says trust me.  Except me. F R A C T I O N A T E D.

Do it.

Here’s the thing…You can totally experiment with different oils to get that exact scent you want. I’ve combined bergamot, lavender and/or rose with my fave ylang ylang.  Because I’m a complete weirdo, I prefer the slightly flowery sensual scent of ylang ylang essential oil.  Gah, it’s so nice.  Please don’t tell the authorities about my obsession.

PS.  here’s the recipes for bath bombs and a DIY poop-pouri toilet spray (with free labels!) with essential oil.  They are kickass amazing.  Legit.  Who me? Obsessed with essential oil much?  Nope.  Yes.

I use pure essential oils though, and not ‘perfume’ essential oils (AKA fake essential oil.)

Get the real deal.

You can even diffuse it throughout your home, ya FLOWER CHILD.

There you have it, theeeee  best massage oil of all time.  Right here.  Right now.

Now that I’ve accomplished that, I have to figure out what to do with my life.  I’m thinking hot pink lipstick.

I would love to try to make this but am allergic to coconut. 🙁 Although I really do like it! Is there another oil that will work? Or will any other oils ruin the sheets?
    Just wondering.

  13. […] This aromatherapy massage oil.  Holy batman.  I’m not going to get all researcher-y on you with fancy health facts, mostly because I don’t know any. I just know it feels good.  My body feels smoother than normal. Which makes me more vivacious-er than normal. Which is officially a nightmare for you.  50 shades of grey? I’m happy with one shade. This massage oil is at least a shade or two.  If you really want total vivaciousness, try these essential oil bath bombs too.   […]

  14. Trudy says:

    I’m confused about the assembly
4 oz coconut and 50 drops ylang ylang makes how much..?
    Thank you

    • Hi Trudy,

The 4 oz of fractionated coconut oil goes into the 4 oz spray bottle, and you drop in your drops of essential oil. It’s basically 4 oz as the drops are only drops and don’t take up much space in the bottle at all.

  15. Lynne, this will make you feel even better about Ylang Ylang. Thought of you when I came across it.

    Hi Lynne!

Happy Holidays to you and your beautiful family!

You tickled my fancy with your PooPourri. & Love Oil. And because of this, I’ve decided to give a handmade Christmas. I’m going to take a detour from the normal corporate Christmas and make up some fun gift baskets.

I just ordered the whole kitten kaboodle on Amazon. You made it super duper easy. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. But especially, THANK YOU for getting my creativity flowing. I really need to get my artsy fartsy mojo back!

On a Michael note… I’ve been following your story for years. I read your recent news, and I cried for joy. I have been praying (begging actually) for a miracle. Tis the season, right? I am putting the positive energy out there, and keeping your entire family in my prayers. If anyone can kick Cancers Ass, it’s the Knowlton Family! Keep checking off that bucket list. This is so timely – been researching “best” oils for massage and am also an essential oil freak so my searching is over. Will try to make next week. I’ve been using a few drops of Bergamont after using “the john” for years and works great to clear the air if ya know what I mean. I agree- you are BEST blogger out there when needing an escape, good laugh AND great diy’s!
    Hugs to you Lynne!

  29. What a great read – so funny and totally something I am going to have to do for a gift one day, maybe just less about the under the covers, for mom’s sake LOL 🙂

  30. Nicole says:

FYI, coconut oil is not condom-safe – it breaks down latex. A good thing to know BEFORE you use the massage oil. 🙂

    • You made me *blush* just READING THAT, Nicole. hahahahaa… but a great FYI to know!

I’m going to put that in my fact checking journal. LOL!!

Thanks for the ‘tip’ and the best laugh of the day too.

      Lynne xx

  31. Stefanie says:

Damn! Didn’t know about your Ylang Ylang obsession- I would’ve sent you my 2nd Chakra oil or spray (ORGANIC SWEET ORANGE*, TANGERINE*, ORGANIC YLANG YLANG*, PATCHOULI*, ORGANIC CARDAMOM*, BLUE TANSY* *essential oil).

You do know I’m a nationally board certified massage therapist, right?!!

Did I tell you about the time I got rid of ants with EO’s??

    • Dang guuuuurl!

I forgot to mention my Ylang Ylang obsession! It’s about 7 years deep. Legit. I have been using Ylang Ylang every.single.day for that many years… and there’s nothing wrong with me. NothingWrongWithMe. haha.

You are a board certified massage therapist?!!!! Can you please come live with me?

      P.S. I love ya!
PS.ss.ss.s.ss.s. should I be adding anything extra to the massage oil recipe? Only clear, we don’t want the yellow sheet thannngy to happen 🙂

    • You.Just.Made.My.Day !!!!

Sending you a massive hug across the ponds, lakes and oceans… from Canada to South Africa!

Enjoy that gorgeous sun!! (it’s snowing here today! xo)

PS. Dawn is dishwashing soap. It’s a name brand but I’m sure that my Mom’s recipe would work with any dishwashing soap.

PS.s.s.s. Just know that my Mom dusts by turning objects upside down on the wall. ahhaahahhaaa… and you think I joke.

PS.s.s.ss.s.s.s. I love you Mom, if you are reading this.

      Lynne xx

      • TucsonPatty says:

Lynn – there is no other dish soap that works like Dawn does for the kind of cleaning recipe from your mom. Dawn is the best soap for cutting grease and is still okay on your hands. Your reader will have to find some comperablr soap (is ther one) in South Africa. One that the oil spill people use for the birds and doesn’t harm them has to be strong, yeah? I hope she can find something,
Love this post, BTW. I see where you get your humor gene! :o)

  33. Jan says:

    Hi Lynne,
Wonderful gift idea. I’m always looking for gift suggestions for the grown children….they have everything!
Anyways, you’re in Ontario? And order off Amazon.com? I looked on amazon.ca and all their containers
are “unavailable”! What’s with that?! I’m assuming .com would ship to you with no problems? I know there is
regulations about what can and can’t be sent across the border. Always a hassle and usually .com is cheaper.
Going to give it a try.
Sending you wishes for a wonderful holiday season.

    • Hi Jan!

Yes, I’m Canadian woooohooooooo! The majority of my blog readers are American though, so I usually link to the .com site to make it easier.

You’re right, it can also be wayyyyyyy cheaper on Amazon.com. If there is a big difference in price, I do buy from amazon.com and ship it to Canada. It has been surprisingly easy.

If the price is pretty great, I do buy on amazon.ca because I have amazon prime. I LOVE that!! I live in the middle of nowhere so getting free shipping with 1-2 day delivery time is d’bomb dot com.

Did that help? Confuse things more? LOL… Inserting more coffee now. haha.

      Big love, happy weekend…
      Lynne xx

  34. Mom says:

Really?? moisturizing oil for dry skin? Yahoo… Oil on sheets are not pretty.. I really want something that smells great, not wreck my sheets and works!! Terrific you figured this out. Why didn’t you figure this out when you were 10? Another idea Im going to try!!!… who would have figured your daughter was smarter than you? I’m going to have to start bragging about you…..Too late….:o) I confess, I brag Love & Hugs….Mom :o)
ps…. I have been trying new mixtures too… I’ve been blending, hemp, wine and Grand Marnier. It smells great. Its organic, you can drink it too….
Ok….now here’s my tips. LOL Remember, I’m the one that said to turn your wall ornaments upside down to dust them hehehe and to wipe your baseboards with a mop…. Here goes: In a spray bottle put 1/2 Dawn & 1/2 vinegar & spray in shower etc. Let sit for a bit. (drink coffee) and then rinse (or throw water on the wall) All the gunk rinses off (Really!!) And when your cleaning… fill a container/pail with vinegar (in lemon peels) and tea tree oil, and a dash of Dawn…..and soak old face cloths… Then wipe the grung off the walls, fridge, floors…etc. (you know all the crud) and throw it in the pail when its dirty. (the rag/old face cloth) Don’t wash the rag out!!! drag ….Throw it in the pail. When you’re done, throw the whole lot in the washer….tah dah…Washing day, Clean cloths ….Fold them, start
